Research



Critical Journal entry (A4 size). Research and analysis of inspiring artists' work. Each have explored the use of pop up design, and influenced my own exploration of paper.

Flying South




Initial exploration of avian murmurations, and development of concept ideas. Experimenting with different media including water colour, pencil and ink. Produced in (A4 sized) Studio Notebook.

This page is taken from my book titled 'Flying South' - the final outcome from initial exploration. This depicts the journey of migrating swallows. Created in water colour. A5 size.

Light Photography



Long exposure is used to capture the perceived movement of street and traffic lights. This was achieved by moving the camera in sweeping motions, whilst keeping the shutter open for approximately 30 seconds. The 'shape' was added digitally. Printed to A4 size.

Symbols



Studio Notebook work (A4 size). Exploration of symbol designs, interpreting the action of sneezing. Experimenting with a range of media such as ink and pencil, using a variety of application methods.

Pepper The Dog


A personal piece of observational drawing in charcoal. Capturing the character of this beloved dog Pepper. A2 size.

Space



My interpretation of space in a geometric design, with shading in coloured pencil. As part of a brief, a provided shape in subtly incorporated into the illustration. - it is seen here as a comet and satellite. A4 size.

Mr. Fox


Fox - Created with a combination of coloured pencil, ink and graphite. The illustration is incorporating a shape (arc, bottom left) provided from a set design brief.
